Us brits laugh at the germans in resorts around the med., for getting up at the crack of dawn to put out towels on sunbeds. Its like a mission for them to reserve beds ,,, even if they arnt going to use them most of the day. It can be a real pain wanting somewhere to sit and loads of unused beds,, after all we all pay for them in our holiday. Wouldnt dream of takeing over one ,,thats totally out of order,,, but if people were a bit more reasonable with 'their territory ' and if they are away for any length of time ,, take your gear and let someone else use the facility of the hotel. They are there for us all....
I think it was handled in a great way. We usually only have one or two chairs for several people. It is just a place to keep your belongings off the pool deck so they don't get wet. We are always in the pool or at the bar.
My calming voice... I first thought you were making a comment about my quite voice.. if you've ever hear that.. well let's just say that the people at the frontdesk came out to see the stupid lady that took someone's chair that day... Calm comes with age.... ya just get too tired to fight all the time. Ya save the energy for the important things like drinking and sex! Jamie
Sorry but Chinos is only working the booze and Boobs cruises, not the side of the pool. Must have been a reference to an older trip. Jamie
When my wife and I were on our last cruise, we shared a chair for about an hour while staring at an empty one across from us. I used the chair, I put his shirt on top of mine. When he came back about an hour later, I gave his seat back. No problems!
:aktion069: ... unfortunately ... is this not rather a reciprocal attitude bewteen brits and germans (and others) and obviously this attitude is not a question on which side of the ocean your are ! i feel the situation as described has been handled absolutely in the right way. personally .. when we have our chairs not in use for a longer time (say at a lunch break ... etc) we give them free and hope others do the same so we have a chance to find other free ones when returning. the holiday is too short to have a serious hassle about such matter. so keep cool and behave respectful and anyone will feel comfortable in the same way. cheers from good ole germany!
We usually travel with another couple, we take turns going down early to reserve 4 chairs by putting shirts or towels on it, we use it all day, and if we meet other people that are fun and looking, we have shared two of them as it gets warmer and people spend more time in the pool (doesn't always happen in Feb.) Just takes some common courtesy.
