We tip a few bucks, I figure if I tip at home for good service why wouldn't I there? Also these people make so little compared to us, why not share the wealth to those making our trips even more wonderful?
Just tip with whatever you're comfortable with. I'll typically go thru a few hundred or so in tips for a weeks stay. Perhaps I'm a cheap ass but I figure 5 to 10% of what it would cost at home. It is an all inclusive resort after all. Best tip I gave in May was $100 to Elysio the Premier pool bartender at the end of the week. He made sure I lacked for nothing. Awesome guy.
We treat it like we're at home. If the service is good, we take care of them and leave what we're comfortable with for whatever was provided. If it's not than we don't leave much knowing its all-inclusive and we don't "have" to tip. That said, pool bartenders get a standard $20 when we order our first round of breakfast drinks (Greyhound, Bloody Mary, Screwdriver, etc.) and normally see at least $10-$20 more out of us throughout the day. Tipping bartenders is our standard MO at all-inclusive resorts because it WILL come back around eventually when the line is 20+ drinks deep and he has your order ready before you even fully make your way there.
I usually leave at least 5 dollars at the restaurant, most of the time 10 because the waiters are usually very friendly there, they usually give us a few laughs during our meals so 10.00 most times, but a la carte restaurants it is usually 20.00 for us as they attend more to you during your meal, I give differently depending on someone's attitude and service, the better the waiter the better the tip like back home.
I just booked from the 21st to 28th. Very much looking forward to it. Hopefully Steve plans a Boobs Cruise.
Thanks everyone for the tipping advice! Just want to make sure we take care of the staff! From what I have read, seems the service is good! Thanks again!
shoes are no problem, just put them all in one carry on....usually heavy and you don't want them to get lost!!! And I make the husband pull that carry on...it is full and heavy!!
