September 2008 Roll Call

I am sad to say that the “TENNESSEEMAN” just cancelled their vacation for this year.

It is easy to figure out who we are, we look pretty much like the photo, hats and all.

Well, we have officially rescheduled for 19-24 Sept. What a stressful day! All you folks there tomorrow and the next few days, drink a few cervesas for ole Bill, please. Then send me a picture of it. Oh yes, please take pics of the storm and give us reports.

I don't understand why all the worry. This storm will pass by sunday then sunny skys to come. The storm to the west of cancun is producing a front that will push against gustav and move it away from cancun. It will be ok people relax go and have fun. Just my opinion.

 

I kinda agree with you Mike - there are a couple other dodgy areas of weather brewing so anytime in the hurricane season is gonna be a risky big fat stressful nightmare LOL - I'm hoping that all will be well - our flight is still scheduled to go tomorrow am 04.15 US/Cancun time so it'll be all good hopefully!!

Looking at the storm track now it looks like the prediction is for it to move further away from Cancun again, not looking good for New Orleans though!

 

I think it was on the weather they said that if the timing was right that there might be a low pressure system come down from the north and stall Gustav right before landfall which in turn would weaken the hurricane before hitting New Orleans. Lets pray the timing is right.

 

Here Here - N. O really doesnt need to get smashed again poor things. I cant even begin to imagine how horrendous it is to live through a hurricane - I mean we have 'gale force' winds over here in the UK and they can reach 70 miles per hour and cause lots of damage but to endure 100 MPH winds is just mental to me!!

All our houses over here are built from brick so the wind damage is limited. I REALLY hope that the gulf coast survives and that Mr Gustav gets weakened by whatever weather is floating around out there!! Lets hope Hannah buggers off too cuz she's looking like she could be a trouble also!!

This time next week we will be landing in cancun. Yeah, I have a three day weekend so no work till tuesday. My boss has already told me he won't be loading me up with work next week, so a light work load on a three day work week. I am pretty much already on vacation. Someone pass me a drink.
