I can tell you from being there 4 months that yes, there is the occasional big storm, like there was tonight... but generally it's like they all have said, rain is not an issue. There have been several times that I was on the beach and it was brilliant sunshine, but look up the coast and I see where it is raining good a couple KM away... and then I watched it move out to sea. Tropical showers are weird. Just here and there. It's like by the time you pack up your stuff on the beach and get back into your resort, the rain will have ended and it will be sunny again!
