Security...for guest safety or to censor guest fun?

dogberry, I would read a few more TR before you cancel. It amazes me how you can read a Report then the writer makes a 180 after they come across this thread. I wonder if people are just jumping on the band wagon.. as my husband says you could hand a person a million dollars and they would bitch at you cause its all in 20's...

 

I've read a few, and they mostly say the same thing.

It's just that going to Cancun from the UK is pretty expensive (about $5000), I'm just trying to make sure that I'm not throwing my cash down the pan.

 

That is alot of money, all I can say is that we were there in April and had the best time ever. This being our 7th trip, and we can't wait to go back.

I'm sure it's going to be a blast no matter what ;-) Just fed up with being treated like a child by police/government etc... here in England, I didn't want it to be a 'home from home' if you catch my drift.

Every time I go to the US (which was quite a lot due to work in recent years), it felt like I could do what I wanted to do (as long as it wasn't illegal). Here, I can't even sail my boat on the sea due to the gates being locked etc... and I took it to a local - common, not privately owned - lake recently, only to see 10 ft high fences put up with barbed wire all over them with signs saying "DANGER - WATER - you could drown" etc...

It'd just be nice to be treated like an adult whilst on vacation.

(I just went to xe.com and it's more like $4000, but still a lot of dosh!)

If you go in expecting security to firm chances are good it won't be as bad as your head is making it out to be.

 

Please let me know what you find out. I'm thinking if you ask TTR directly, they will say everything is fine. I'm curious to know how things really are and what we should expect with all these new "changes". I've been to TTR three times. My wife and I went to TTR last June for our honeymoon. That was her first visit and she loved it. We're going back in a little over a month and would hate to have things censored like some on this thread are saying things are now. Can someone who has been there recently add their input????

 

I've heard a lot of talk about security, but all I really want to know is, do they get pissed when you smoke a joint on your balcony?

 

Does anyone have an email address for the hotel. I would like to express my concerns before we book our annual november trip.

i would have to say yes... they are on the lookout all the time for it and there are signs all over the place.. i would be very careful...

 

I would think the last place you would want to end up would be a Mexican jail.
