We haven't had time to write our trip report yet. Just been too busy trying to get caught up from being gone.

I have plenty to say on the subject as it was really the only negative of our trip.

I think that is the main point, every one had a great time thanks to friends and the great people we all meet down there and the staff etc.. Security wasnt enough to ruin anyones vacation, but security should be watching but in the shadows so to speak, Seems for the last month or so they have been out in the open and making a presence known... the best security is the one that is not seen but acts fast, for instance at the bar Im involved with, if a fight breaks out..security jumps and acts and grabs the parties involved fast enough and decisive enough as to not affect the rest of the party/bar... everyone wants to know that there is security if need be, they just do not want to see them and feel as if there is babysitters watching at all times... it draws a fine line, a line that makes some uncomfortable. Again , it didnt affect me per say, but it affected a lot of those in the group. Ok thats my security speach and im hoping to avoid this topic from here on out and focus on fun times for the rest of the year and planning next years trip...

We just returned and I can sum it up in two words. SECURITY SUCKED! The security at TR have gone from protecting and watching over the guests to harassing and degrading. They were very unpredictable and offensive. The free and laid back atmosphere at the resort that so many have come to love has been compromised. These problems have been continuously brought to the attention of the management and at times appears to decrease only to return a few hours later. The management appears to have no control over the situation. Some of the issues I witnessed were very unnecessary.

I witnessed a male guest being asked to put a shirt on at PatyO's after just returning from the lingerie show that "requires" men be shirtless.

I witnessed a female being asked to stop exposing herself because she had a very sexy lowcut blouse on that occasionally would allow a nipple to show while she was dancing on the dance floor. She had been topless all day at the sexy pool.

I witnessed security tell two females to tone it down after some provocative dancing at PatyO's. They were dressed and not even touching except for a quick kiss during the dance.

I witnessed security stop and refuse to allow simple female jello body shots performed by other females even though others were allowed to do body shots on the bar at the sexy pool the same day.

These are just a few of the problems that I witnessed from security. The rules changed from hour to hour. All of the things I witnessed security harassing guests about have been allowed in the past. I heard many guests say they would not return to TR if this was the atmosphere that management wanted.

While security seemed to be trying to curtail the sexy atmosphere at TR, they were turning a blind eye to excessive drunkenness and female harassment by some. I witnessed more severely inebriated people than ever before. The harassment became really scary to some of the females and some of us had to escort some of the single females to their rooms the protect them. Several guests complained of having men beating on their doors late at night and trying to get in. I never saw security intervening in any of these situations.

Well said Dale and Cherri. Being one of the males asked to put on a shirt, I have to agree with you. I did hear there was an adults only resort in Florida. Think I may have to check into it if things don't change before our next trip.

As for security helping with the door banging - they were too busy standing at the top of the stairs to walk the resort.

Thanks for the report dmac. This is the kind of detail that the letter to Temptations needs.

When I wrote them asking about the security issues they just replied talking about how sex in public wasn't allowed... duh..

At least you got a response to your message. I haven't heard a thing from my attempt to complain.

    Not a new issue

Security has been a problem off and on for years. Our vacation was somewhat ruined during one of these crack downs in 2007. We were hanging with another couple late night when security stopped us for breaking rules and said they were gonna throw us out. Then as we got angry and said we were going to management they told us, for 50 bucks they would forget everything happened. We ended up at the front desk, the manager sort of apologized and explained that we were to close to the beach at a late hour, but that security overreacted by threatening to throw us out? We still had a great trip but that fun, promising nite was ruined. We have gone back since and seen a much more lax attitude from security. It seems to go in spurts of either no security or full on sex police. Too bad after all these years they still haven't found a happy medium....
