Make sure you do your homework before you book your trip. Just got back from Cancun (9-8-18) and I've never seen this much seaweed anywhere. It was really thick in the water and the beach was 12" deep in seaweed.

Thanks for the helpful website link. Didn't know about that one.
On the positive side, we've learned from experience that a healthy abundance of alcohol-fuelled dancing and partying with sexy friends can be an effective treatment for seaweed allergies :)
Google searching confirms that 4 out of 5 doctors actually recommend it

Going to TTR for the beach is like going to Rome for the pizza.

We typically go in the ocean once per trip - just to legitimately say we did...then quickly back to the party!

Rome has some pretty good pizza though... just sayin'.

Great metaphor (simile?) though! Liked it!

Interesting side observation. The O/P Razor has 83 posts as of the current count, and not a single, meaning NO, likes. That's actually hard to do witht he fun-loving and supportive CCC crowd.

Stacia has to go put her feet in the ocean every day when we go to TTR, seawood glom or not. I think it's icky, but she gets naked down there so it works out.

That's horrible! Exactly where was this photo taken? In front of a hotel? Planning to come to Cancun at the end of October. Hope it will be gone by then.

    Zena,
this is a photo from a recent article (August) that I found taken in the Hotel Zone. It wasn't this bad when i was there two weeks ago. They've been raking it up with tractors nearly everyday.

We went to the beach to kayak, paddle board and take a breather. Seaweed wasn’t bad, probably a foot wide and 4-5” deep. I’ve seen it much worse in other places. They cleaned it up a couple of times a day so it didnt build up too much.
