I often go to this webcam when I'm dreaming of Mexico: Cancun, Quintana Roo - Webcams de México You can see there is some seaweed in the pics but they appear to have a handle on it. Not the giant piles of stinking, fishy vegetation the media would have you think is the norm.
When I was flying to the Dominican Republic a couple of weeks ago, you could see large rows of it (even from 37,000 Ft) so I expect it will be some time before it's cleared up. All they can do is keep raking it up. The beach there had some for sure, but nothing that would spoil a holiday or require a cancellation! Besides.....as many said, no seaweed in the sexy pool! :daveandmo:
Our understanding that the clean up is a joint venture between hotels to clean it up.
