    Tariff 1-B

Maybe for completeness, someone can post the 1-B brochure, like Mixz1 suggested, and did the 1-C. I don't live in a 1-B area, so I can't easily go to the CFE offices to get one (and, I wouldn't know how to do what Mixz1 did to post it here, even if I had one!).

    Coby???

Thanks, Mixz1, that's very kind of you. I may join the 21st century, yet!

That's really interesting. For example, we use between 900 - 1000 kW/h per billing period here, so using the same electricity in the Winter, our rates would only go up 200-300 pesos (and the cost is near identical to 1C). So it still costs more for us in general, but there is no terrible jolt in prices. The 1B chart for your viewing pleasure.

That's very interesting, Coby. At above 400 KWH of consumption it appears the charges in 1-C and in 1-B are the same, when winter rates are applied. So, the big break in cost, if you're in the 1-C tariff, is a summertime phenomenon, only.

For some reason your image tag didn't make it in my browser even though it looks correct. I sent you a PM

    Cooler weather

Well, can it be that that cooler weather T.J. promised us, but was slow to deliver, has finally arrived? I'm still running my a/c, but only a few hours a day, at the moment, and not at all at night; whereas, I was running it all night long, until just recently.

    ELECTRICAL USAGE DOWN

Well, it looks like T.J. was right, after all. My average usage has now dropped below 10 KWH/day. Looks like we're not going to get hit with a much bigger bill, after all. Maybe those guys at the CFE know what they're doing, and how to keep their revenues stable, season to season.

HOW TO REALLY SAVE ON YOUR BILL

I mentioned, earlier on this thread, the possibility of a neighbor stealing your electricity. I don't think I've seen that, yet, but I've seen something else, a possibly corrupt act by an electric company serviceman to give someone free electricity. There is an apt in our complex which is occupied, and is air conditioned. It's been lived in the whole time I've been here, and was before, I'm told. Recently, I saw the electric bill for that unit. It showed zero electric consumption for the last two years (who knows about before that, as the bills only go back two years!).

When I checked the meter, the disc goes round, but the hands haven't turned in two years! The meter is sealed with an electric company seal, so it doesn't look like a "do-it-yourself", money-saving (stealing) effort. My landlady complained about it to the electric company, as she doesn't like paying when others don't, either. We'll see what happens.

    INTERNAL AFFAIRS

This may end up taking an internal affairs investigation within the CFE, because an inspector came out, perhaps two weeks ago, in response to my landlady's complaint, but the problem persists.... Makes you wonder what kind of report back to HQ he made, following his visit. Possibly didn't include the detail I gave you!

Sure we just got hit with a whopping 2300 pesos! Ours is normally 1200 - 1500 so i presume the difference that V says is right. That's a stupid price, looks like the air con is going off for a few months then! That's 200 dollars for two months, it's like living in England. Couldn't happen at a worse possible time, if anything has made me conscious about electricity usage, this has.
