What I find quite telling is that every time someone from the boat company is quoted, they say that the boat has the capacity to hold some 200+ people.....as if that releases them of any wrong doing. Everyplace that I've looked seems to indicate that the capacity of the boat is NOT relevant....what is relevant is the law that states that the vessel can only carry a maximum of 80 into the national park....regardless of capacity and how many people they can cram on the boat. Here is an update on the vigil they just had..... http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/061208dnmetsinking.3ab8210.html An they are now saying that perhaps the weather should have kept the boat from leaving the dock in the first place.....and yes....the boat folks are still talking about the boats capacity and NOT how many they were authorized to take into the national park. I guess they were expecting a tornado to spin down from the midwest US and land in Cancun..... I would imagine that if one didn't want to accept any responsibility for what happened, you'd try to blame it on the weather.....or at least throw the idea out there at the wall to see what might stick.
