Oh no!!! Good dogs shouldn't be allowed to die, only bastardly ones! Do you think you will adopt another one?
Once again Fletch, I am really sorry for your loss. I could not stop thinking about it yesterday and I spent all night yesterday on the couch laying down with my dog, watching TV with her all curled up with me like she loves to do. I guess you have to cherish the times while you can. Your dog sounds like a real pal and a true friend and member of your family. My thoughts are still with you, your family and of course the pup.
oh fletcher im so sorry to hear this Just remember that she will no longer be in pain, even though I know it's hard. If you need anything, let me know!
yes, cherish every single moment you can with her....the pain i feel now is worse than most I've felt my entire life. I dont wish this upon anyone. Again, thanks for the wishes and support everyone. It's really helping out.
Be strong, the pain will pass. Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote: I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. Marsh
Pets are truly part of the family. So when they die it is an extremely difficult time. It's good to know that all dogs go to heaven. Sorry to hear of your loss.
Maggie died the way we all should. What a good doggy dog. I haven't had my Isla dog for very long, she is a Hurricane Dean rescue dog, but I would be devastated to lose her. You and Maggie are in my thoughts.
As I have said, I am just now a pet owner. However, my husband had a male cat for like 15 years. At one point during that time, my husband had some serious health problems. Much of the time it was just him and Bandit. Once Steve recovered, Bandit's health took a turn for the worse, and he died the week of Thanksgiving right before we got together. Steve still misses his buddy Bandit, that's quite obvious. It was 5 years before we got our two kitties we have now, likely because how much it hurt when Bandit died. He chose to name one of the kitties Smokey, in honor of Bandit, and once in a while he'll point out something the kitties do 'just like Bandit used to.' It seems you and Steve will never totally get over your buddies. That's okay; I realize especially now how pets are family... never forget them. When it's time, you may find your new buddy. It just sucks their lives are so short! .... and you're welcome!
So sorry, Fletch! I know what you are going through. Just before my Dad died, my dog started grieving because he was in the hospital. I came home from the hospital to let her out to use the bathroom and couldn't find her. My dads regular bed had the covers all jumbled up, his hospital bed the same way with the phone also knocked over, and we finally found her behind his hospital chair. She was still alive when we got to her. I called the vet and everything to see what to do for her, and he told us to the best thing to do would be to put her to sleep the next day. She lived for 15 minutes after that phone call.. She looked at me, and rolled over for me to rub her belly, then nudged me with her head. After that she passed. I didn't go back to the hospital until she was burried. My dad died 36 hours later. Muffin had kidney failure all of the sudden, and when we got the death certificate back from my dad, one of his causes was also kidney failure. Strange things happen in this crazy world. Please know that if you need anyone to talk to, i'm here.. I know what you are going through. We had her almost 15 years.. We Luz you, Fletcho.
