I still have a few more months before I go there, but am daily surfing on the web to read and learn more about Cancun. My wife and I love dancing salsa, to get the snake-hips out and bust some serious amatourmoves Any suggestions for nice places to have a few drinks in a nice setting, maybe some food as well, with a good dancefloor and salsa into the early hours? I'll stay in the hotel-zone btw CCD
Mambo Cafe, hands down, is a great place. do a SEARCH for SALSA DANCING or MAMBO CAFE and u will find lotsa info.
The Mambo Cafe downtown burned down about a month or so ago. You can try Sabor Latino though. It's downtown. If you want to stay in the hotel zone there is Azucar.
Sabor Latino, Melao and Azucar are the hot places for salsa. There is a new place called "Rincon Cubano" (or Havana, can't remember straight) but I haven't heard anything about it yet. They are building a new Mambo Cafe in the hotel zone but no idea when it's set to open.
