I am told bad things about Cancun all the time by co-workers or such. I just respond with you wouldnt travel into the inner city drug area and feel safe here, why would I go to Mexico and travel to those areas!! You must visit there on vacation and see how Beautiful it is!! I will take the city bus for 50 cents and go to the Walmart for necessities without ever feeling unsafe. They sell beer, wine and liquor too!! There is security that walks around the hotel and beach to keep those who are from a different hotel off premises. Best I saw was a few guys thrown out for being unruly to woman...

Check out travel warnings. I've traveled to Mexico (Cancun & Mayan Riveria) multiple times and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. YOLO!!
Cancun is big $$$ for mexico for the gov and cartel's ect.. they don't want to mess it up. it's very safe to walk around. and their are heavily armed patrols and plenty of security and police in the HZ. i feel safer there than walking in boston or springfield.
read the threads on renting cars in Cancun, or the recent case at TTR, ,, $4,000 to bail out someone over a sopposably pushing match ?? Don't think its that bad in the states Just got to be carefull while travelling, but my point is that its not good for business.
