Did I say we were afraid??? No!!! digusted, YES. OF COURSE, A firm "no" always works, just 8 firm "no"s in 10 minutes is just to much.
You never know. The rock is small and seems alot of the expats and negril addicts all seem to frequent the same places with local flavor. If we havent I'm sure we will Now back to Cancun discussions. Lol Like I mentioned in my longish post there are rules to any city. You stray from the rules any issues you have you bring on. -Keep your wits about you -Take the bus or taxis (thats more for sweaty reasons) -Take only enough $$ for the night, leave the rest in the safe, or the bank, where ever -Don't get into some randoms car -Don't go into dark areas wandering -Always walk with a purpose, your body language tells predators who is weak. Who needs assistance, etc.. -Leave your passport in the safe always. Always make a copy and leave in your luggage or take with you when you are out and about. -Leave your wallet in the safe, along with your valuables. Think jewelry, cell phones, cameras. Unless you are wanting your camera for pics out, just be watchful. -Front pockets for your stuff, and split your $$ between the two There are bad people every where. Not just in foreign countries.
A friend of ours was in Cancun in October and got robbed by the police. They were down by Coco Bongos drunk, saw a sign warning about alligators and decided to go find them... The cops found them and took all of their cash and even their cigarettes. Needless to say, this probably wouldn't have happened if they stayed on the street and in a group. Just be aware of your surroundings and don't do anything stupid and I'm sure you'll be fine.
