Speak up! I am over 40 & single, (I still like TTR and will continue to go...in spite of the rowdy boys) and we did ask Chino if we could hear some good ole rock one day by the pool and he was kind enough to accommodate us! If no one says anything, they do not know. This resort is a great place for the over 40 crowd and many of us go there for that reason. The month of March is often a different crowd though (younger), so those who do not want to party with the younger crowd should go when it is not spring break from all the Universities! I agree there should not be an extra charge for singles, but it was a bit much this last trip there with the 45 single men there for a Stag party. They were out of hand and it got out of control at times. They are the reason everyone is so upset. (They broke a friend of mines ribs. They threw her over a table for saying, "Thanks guys, for ruining everyones morning." They were drunk on the beach and got into a fight which caused security to throw EVERYONE off the beach at sunrise.)
The problem with the music debate is that what one person calls "good old rock and roll" is different from another's. For instance what I think of as rock and roll is Chuck Barry, Buddy Holly and the Crickets, etc. It certainly isn't the folk era music or disco to me. But is it "Acid Rock, Big Hair Band music, Heavy Metal, any of the Jackson family" and on and on? I cringe when I hear Proud Mary or Mony Mony, but I understand that a lot of people like it. I have heard all of the affore mentioned called rock and roll. Put yourself in the place of the DJ. Do you play music that you have played perhaps 3000 times already, or do you play the latest releases? When we were there in Dec. there was a band that played a bunch of cover music like "Play that funky music white boy". Not my cup of tea, but a lot of people loved it. My point is that "good" music is so different for each person they can't possibly please everyone... so they play the latest stuff. (That opinion from someone who is older than most of you, but give me the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, or any newer club music and I'll dance all night long)
This is so true!!! If we are having a great time partying with fun people the music just sort of becomes a backdrop to the fun !
Tequila makes any music sound great!!! We were dancing to Kesha in Jan. And laughed about it later when sober... It's dumb stuff like that which makes a trip memorable! Then at home, when you hear that horrible song, you laugh and remember what an awesome trip you had!! And as far as age, we are still teenagers in our mind(s) and like the age variation at TTR...
