i just returned from TTR . i was there 5 days before i remembered i brought a camera...so i went to chichen itza for the day and took lots of pics...got up early my last day and took some pics around the resort..hardly anybody out... so i figured it was no problem.. my first time and it was amazeing.will be back.. oh yea just to say im one of those single guys...
Rules are good for banning picture taking around nudity but I can tell you people will sneak pics anyway. We go to st martin every year and Ive had my pic taken by men and women and they know if they are caught the camera goes in the ocean. Still agree with the idea no cameras (phones included now) should not be in an area where there is nudity. Thank god Ive never seen my pic or video on the internet!!
Putting it on the comment card is an excellent idea. We always research as much as possible where we are going to spend our holdays as they are rare and expensive. If I were a single guy, having seen this site and trip advisor, I don't think I would book TTR as it seems predominently couples orientated and frequented. When we were there earlier this year a group of single guys arrived from England made a nuisance of themselves which completely changed the atmosphere of the place from the time they arrived - hope they find somewhere more appropriate next year. As said earlier, it is not Hedo or Desire, nor is it Disneyland though! We love it there and are booked again for March 2011 but in our profession really don't want topless photos of my wife posted on the interweb!
Yes we would go back if camera's were banned... However until then we will be bringing our camera and taking pic... the pic are for us and nobody else.. promise you this, no pictures we take will ever be found on the net or anywhere else.. My own personal feeling is I don't care if someone takes my picture.. ignorance is bliss... I won't go looking so I won't know... at the same time I do respect others feelings and would hate to think anything I'm doing would bother others and in a heart beat delete anything if asked. My only worry is violence.. We are there to party and have a good time... like everyone else. PS... my boss heard a story about Temptations in Cabo... people having sex everywhere.. blah blah blah... he told me I was a sick woman. I tried to tell him Temptations in Cancun is not the same.. So I can understand peoples feelings about privacy..keep your pictures to yourself.
It all breaks down to this!!!!! Choose your backgrounds considering everyone around you!!!!!! When ever there is any doubt ASK if its ok everytime!!!!!!!! if it is ok to take a picture! As a semi-professional photographer! I will always take pictures of my beautiful wife and our friends we are together with!!!! I will ask ALWAYS!!!! As returning visitors to this wonderful place!!!!! I want to remeber the people we meet and the good times we have!!!! But LURKERS and PERVS Beware!!!!! I have NO PROBLEM standing up to anyone taking a picture of ANYONE without their permission!!!!!
