The specialty dinners we like to dress up, it makes it feel romantic. When you have kids romantic time doesn't happen, only get hurry ups. But for lunch I don't want to have to change for 30 min of eating before going to play volleyball or whatever. You know what I mean.
thanks for the heads up Jamie, I have tried Chantix....it kind of, how do I say, made me crazy??? I am almost to my goal weight now, and I made a promise to my grandaughter as soon as I lost all the weight I would quit smoking....have cut down, and it doesnt bother me at all not to smoke in public. SURE isnt gonna stop me from going anywhere on vacation, or cuttin loose and having the time of my life!!! See you next May my friend.....bringing 4 girls this time...wooohooo
I tried chantix too, it didnt seem to have much effect on me. As you know you take it for a week or so before you actually quit, after my week I didnt feel any less like stopping but did so anyway. I lasted around 10 weeks but have since started up again.
Made me a bit nutso too...my husband and a friend's hubby both called them tic tacs. Will power is what it takes...hopefully someday I will find it.
Shouldn't have to "dress up" for lunch. Just a shirt and shoes/flip flops/sandles will work during the day. Bring your towel to sit on if your suit is wet and everything will be fine. Jamie
After a week I stopped on the flight to Australia. Did it over a vacation so I was out of my normal routine and away from the fridge. You're supposed to keep taking them for at least 3-4 months after you stop but it's the habit that is the hardest thing to break. 10 months into it and there are still times when I think a cigarette is just what I need to get past whatever is bothering me. I gained 20 ppounds since I stopped and am going to have to work on that someday but staying quit is taking priority. Although I have though about smoking again to eat less. Oh well.... but I still sniff cigarette smoke like we used to sniff MJ smoke. Jamie
karen and i just quit Karen and I quit about 10 weeks ago...chantix helped quite a bit...all though its pretty subtle (just less crazy when you stop smoking). We also used some nicotine gum to get over the hump the first few weeks... I just stoped the chantix (2 months after quiting) and Karen is continuing on for another month or so... We're both a bit worried about making it through our first week at temptations without smokes, but it's only a week and a few hundred drinks...how hard could that be??? but seriously...good luck to all that try to quit...it's hard but worth it...
Smoking Ban is Mexican Law I just got back a couple of weeks ago and the reason for the smoking ban in all indoor areas is that a new Mexican Federal Law just went into effect that makes it illegal to smoke in any enclosed place. Therefore you can no longer smoke in Nice Shoes, any restaurant, or in the rooms, lobby etc. I do not know what this means for the tourist/local bars and dance clubs.
I will be happy with the smokeless environment. Our state has had an indoor smoking ban in all public places for years now. I can really enjoy going out and not having an allergy attack from smoke. I went to a restaurant on a beautiful summer evening recently looking forward to eating outside and had to move inside the middle of my dinner due to the smoking at the other tables. Totally forgot people could smoke out there. It was a real bummer!
