    Thank all of you guys!

I let bf know about it all and warned him strongly against Jetblue if he will risk it and go with a one way ticket ...thanks for all your feedback and if anyone got anything to add it would be much appreciated,we are a bit worried about this issue and really ...the money he would spend on a ticket he wont use would be very useful for other stuff..I agree with u Tori..the rules really suck but yeah rawkus you totally have a point. It is a lot of risk if they do ask for a ticket back.

Skyped bf yesterday and he said they did ask him last time for a ticket back home so he could be one of the unlucky ones asked to show a ticket...

we will see, it is up for him to decide what to do ,i probably wouldnt risk it he has a ton of tattoos and they always give him a hard time when they judge on looks.

Thanks everyone ,every bit of information counts :)

Violet: The likelihood that they would even ask is small, but, as long as its not 100% sure, then there is a risk, regardless how small it it :(

Another friend bought a Greyhound(?) ticket from Monterrey to Brownsville and used that as "proof". The ticket cost her like $15US.

Dont know how reliable that is though, since it was over a year ago.

Good luck with it all and let is know how it went.

Ps. Im sorry to hear your bf has issues with the tattoos - stereotyping seems to be alive and well, unfortunately.

1 way or round trip - dont need no stinkin' anything..

I have been travelling to Mexico (cancun) for the last 20 years - 4X a year......... On my last two trips - I noticed something very strange at the Cancun airport - THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SECURE AREA for arriving passengerrs - Walk off the plane and enter the general area of the airport - separated from departing passengers only by a stantion and ropes where you are EXPECTED to walk downstairs and go thru immigration................!!

So, last month, I decided to see just how far I could go in the airport - without having to go thru immigration. I just walked into the general area where all the concession stands are and was able to walk right to an EXIT DOOR and leave the airport....... SO...!!! It seems like one can enter Mexico as an illegal immigrant with absolutely no record of you having done this.

If I am wrong - Someone please correct me on this.

Vi, Rawkus had a great idea but you could do it cheaper with the bus ticket. Get one from and to border towns, like Matamoros to Brownsville for example. The big bus companies are www.ado.com.mx and www.primeraplus.com.mx. There may be others but these I have used.

EyeDoc - You may be right but you are talking about Terminal 2 (where Jet Blue arrives and departs), aka the National Terminal. Not sure where you went out the door as when you head back toward where departing passengers are heading to their gates there are Security folks stationed to keep it from happening. And if you got away with this you could not have checked a bag as you need to go through Immigration to get into the international arrivals area of Terminal 2, then pass through Customs before getting outside. PM me if your answer to exactly how you pulled this off is too long.

The same has happened to me in Terminal 3 (the new, international terminal) many times... we get off the plane and are taken directly into the main departures area. Everyone follows a staff member in a line toward the escalators going down to immigration. Depending on how far back you are in line, it would be pretty easy to break off from the pack. From there, I'm not sure how you would leave because of the security station to get into the departures area. I'd love to hear how v8eyedoc did it!

The 1st thing I did when getting off the plane was to just leave the line (with no problem at all!) and go to the men's room for about 5-6 minutes and when I walked out - no more people at all getting off the plane - I simply walked across the general departure area and found my way downstairs and right out thru one of the doors....... No big mystery!! hahahahhahaha..... Then I walked back upstairs - took the escalator downstairs and went thru immigration....... TA DA.!!

    Testing - testing - testing...........!!!

I am sure that some people get caught going thru Mexican immigration at the airport for doing things incorrectly....

On my many trips thru Mexican immigration, as the FM1 forms are handed out in the plane to all passengers - invariably, my passport is tucked away in my carry-on stowed above..... so my first "experiment" was to just jot down some numbers for my passport number (Not the correct numbers, of course!) - and I sailed thru immigration without any problem... So I said to myself, on the next trip, where the form asks for your occupation - I decided to write - PROSTITUTE - no problema......

On my trip down last month - I did the same thing with the passport numbers...... Th immigration officer didnt bother to check that for accuracy - but since i stay with dear friends - he asked if they are friends or family - WELCOME TO MEXICO,,,,,,,
