Ya , we booked with Expedia many times no problem too. This case was an airline issue. I spoke to airlines MANY times to confirm and it made no difference. Even up until the point where Expedia "ENSURED" and argued with me for more than 2 hours that our reservation was fine only to try to check in at the airport both coming and going and no record with both airlines that we had the reservation, even with reservation codes etc. They (Air Canada and United) said several times that we should've never booked with Expedia, that this happens often and that there was nothing they could do because Expedia is the ticketing agent.
Yes, booked the whole thing as a package. Like I have the last two times. I am soooo tired of waiting on hold, explaining over and over and trying to get SOMEONE to do something. I work a fucking million hours a week and I wait ALL YEAR for my vacation and now it's all fucked up. I booked Disneyland and they're trying to put us in "the Villages". (An old age apartment complex with shuffleboard and ping pong)
Shift weeks and hold the travel site accountable for any extra costs. Hope you get everything straightened out, can't imagine this!
seeing you booked them together, try calling your cc company, see if you can stop payment Travel cc have some protection included . if the booking company was never able to fullfil it,s obligations it fall under fraud catagory. record all your calls , I use ACR app has saved me a few times .
We have a friend that is a travel agent and we use her for all our trips. We have been using her for years with no problems at all. We call her, tell her when and where we want to go and she makes it happen. Sometimes we just tell her when we want to go and give her an estimate on our budget and she finds us incredible places to visit. I always check with "online" sites after we get a quote from her and her prices are ALWAYS the same or better than anything we could find online. Plus there is no hassle with transfers, flights ect. and she usually tells us what to say in order to get a room upgrade or any other perks a resort might have. I would suggest to everyone on here to go out and find a travel agent, give them a try (you don't have to accept their offer if you find something better). Just my opinion, I have no affiliation to the travel industry, but I get nervous about traveling out of the country, she always assures me it is safe where we are going, or places to stay away from when we get there. By the way TTR was our idea and she wants a full report on it when we get back.
Sorry for your difficulties with your much needed vacation. Thanks to the others for the good ideas. We usually use Expedia but this has me questioning that decision. Might not be worth saving a few dollars. We wish you the best on your struggles to have a vacation.
This is the thing. You shouldn't have to sacrifice the savings. Just about all travel agents will honor what you find online because they are forced to compete with online sites
