I have heard many people say it is cancun, it is going to be damp, mold happens. Well I found it interesting that at Pearl we had no dampness or mold issues in the room. Air conditioners worked well and didn't have any of the issues referenced above. TTR should make improvements in the systems, or maybe start with cleaning them
I went home with a bad cough, coughing up crap for about a week....I've put it down to low immunity due to lack of sleep & far too much alcohol. Love to get a fix but then maybe I couldn't party so hard........! What's Lysol by the way, never seen it in the UK
A disinfectant spray - same as Dettol (made by the same company). I put my sore throat and blocked sinuses down to hard partying and too much alcohol. After seeing this thread, I'm beginning to wonder......
I thought the same what is Lysol Am taking some thing to help with the damp this year see if it makes a difference or not
Any one that knows about climate control, knows they are useless . They may work in an air tight closet or garment bag. You would need more then 50 of them to do the room, and every time some one opened the door, or take a shower , it would illiminate the effect. Air conditioning is the most effective way of removing moisture from the air. ( remember the steady stream of water running from the AC window shakers ?, thats moisture from the inside air )
And that would appear to be part of the problem. From what I observed, the evaporator/dryer didn't work so well because the Damp-Rid that hung nearest the register picked up more than twice the water compared to be others. Those buildings are constructed entirely of concrete (even the interior walls and concrete can retain a lot of moisture so maybe the a/c units are just under capacity.
Their is no dryer in those units, the water is drained away. If the drain were clogged there would be a leak , lot of water. The drain pan could have dips in it and stagnate water . I tried leaving my unit off but the maid would turn it back on all the time. The other option is to leave it on all the time, so you don't get the mold cycle going when the unit is off. Fridges have an evaporator/ dryer pan under the fridge, a lot less volume We are still awaiting results from the CSI team on the origin of the Virus and patient Zero
Moldy curtains, rusty furniture, blehhhh. Good thing TTR is fun enough we can overlook this stuff, at least the price. Lol
Preliminary results indicate patient zero may have been a chair hogging single dude with a telephoto lens on his camera, last seen coughing openly as he walked into the Italian restaurant in flip flops and board shorts.
