Completely agree. I hardly ever listen to the words of music, and care more about the beat. I found out this can get you in trouble when playing "Blurred Lines" for the first time, for your much to young son. My wife wasn't impressed, and I said, honestly, I hadn't even listened to the words.

I know you didn't ask me personally, but I figured this is a good question I can reply to and then jump in with my thoughts.

    Wedding songs:
Entrance: Love, Reign O'er Me - The Who, but covered by Pearl Jam
First Dance: You & Me - Dave Matthews Band
Final song: Knights in White Satin - The Moody Blues

So by those choices, you can pretty much tell I am a Rocker. But my thing is I like quality music. So if it is a good ass song, then it's a good ass song no matter what the genre. However, I don't like new Rap (with shitty auto-tune artists) and I won't really play much county (though I don't hate it).

But if you came to come to a party at my house, you can pretty much bet that it's going to start with 80's, and 90's rock, including 2000's alternative rock. As the party heats up, more top 50 dance type/rap music to get people go. Eventually move to old school rap (so we can showcase our mad sing-along skills). Then probably wind down with classic rock for the late night party professionals.

Wish we'd been at that wedding! @ScubaSteve

And here I had you pegged for a Rat Pack wedding....with My Way as your opener

You enter to The Who or PJ's version?
Very Cool either way Dude, but Daltrey is better choice IMHO

    BTW...when is the next party?
Do you have a pup tent and can we use it?

Anybody else wish TTR would throw in a couple 'slow get close/bum squeezers' each night?
I have suggested it more than once over the years...but No dice
Although Charlie did once play Purple Rain as his last song of the night one time.
When The Whooligans wouod play Paty Os....sometimes could talk them into PJ's Black as their closer.

Wish everyone could have been there. We have actually talked about doing a 10 year reunion, but at TTR! (this June year will be 8)

It was actually the PJ version. Obviously I like the original more, but we needed to figure some way to have PJ in the important song mix. Great dramatic effect waiting for the first minute of the song with the thunderstorm, then we actually entered the venue and all hell broke loose.

Next party unknown...as normally our summer kickoff is a 3 day party labeled "Steve's birthday bender bash" memorial day weekend(but this yea we will be in mecca). Pop tent...can do you one better with a guest room, haha :) . Though there was one year we did throw the party at my parents mountain house. One couple decided to actually sleep in a tent in the yard. People in the house could hear them late night/early morning doing the horizontal mambo. It made for very interesting breakfast conversation with a group of 20 people. The girl involved was new to the friendship circle, and extreamly embarrassed. We are a tough crowd.
