They did seem to relax the visit rules last week as there were a number of people visiting from pearl that didn't have to pay the normal $150 fee when visiting from one Desire to another. As for the transfer rates I believe they changed recently. I tried to pay the normal $40 usd when going from hotel zone to Desire but they pointed to a sign saying the rates switched from 400 pesos to 600 pesos. I assume this is for everywhere in hotel zone to riviera area (Desire rm) but not 100% sure.
Same thing worked for us. We actually went from TTR to Pearl. May take a little bsing on your part, but sell it to them that you are interested in a nicer resort with better amenities. I forget the woman who worked the deal for us but her name tag did say Desire. She arranged for us to have the Premier meeting in the morning and we ended up with the rest of the day there. We probably had to work a little harder because of our age. She did ask a couple questions to make sure we were ok with the lifestyle. After explaining we've been together for 11 years and that we've participated in LS events, she was ok with giving them to us. You will have to pay for transportation each way. I think it came out to be $100ish
If you are a member, they will allow you to go visit Pearl or RM if you have never been before as long as they have the opportunity to try to upsell your contract. With us, we went with 2 other couples to Pearl in a TTR paid van, went through the spiel separately, then all met up at the pool. All you really need to do is ask at the premier desk to see if you can visit.
And what did they give you for the day at TTR that you paid for and didn't use because you were at RM?
Actually with the current exchange rate that TTR has (14), 600 pesos is only around $42 so pretty close anyways...
