We've stayed just west of there 3 times Stayed at the Casa Maya, using a friends timeshare week, 3 times, going back for #4 in Feb '10. We walked through the RIU Caribe twice, looks very nice, have stayed in Negril Jamaica 2 times at the 2 RIU hotels there, this company does it right.....keep things clean, feed you, and serve you drinks.....provide a great beach, and plenty of chairs..... I would stay at the RIU Caribe, but if someone gives you a one bedroom suite, with kitchen facilities, balcony looking over the calm bay that is on the north side of the island of Cancun.....a room for 4 that no one feels crowded in, and costs $600 for the week....plus airfare and food....no brainer.....granted it is not the Ritz, but grab the bus, go into downtown, and eat like kings and queens.....for a lot less than out on the hotel strip......you all need to find a friend like ours!
Anyone going to the Caribe in early Dec.? We will be there Dec. 4th-11th! Any advice on the resort would be appreciated too!
Hi All Going to the Riu Caribe on September 12th (2 weeks) for my 40th birthday with our lass. The hotel looks stunning. Has anyone been recently? Any pointers
Visiting Riu Caribe from March 24th-31 2011 with 7 friends. Got a really good deal on an all inclusive package. Anyone else going to Riu Caribe toward the end of March 2011?? Is it true we would have access to the other Riu hotels as well ??
Hi there ... We have been to the Riu Caribe twice. You have access to the Riu Cancun but not the Riu Palace (big white one next door). We loved the Caribe! We did our advanced dive certification with the dive shop there - Scuba Caribe (Alberto) and they were awesome. The main buffet restaurant exceeded expectations - I never really like buffets, but this was large, lots of choices, fresh, well stocked, and the wait staff were attentive and friendly. The a la carte restaurants are good too - though never ate in the asian one and didn't hear great things about it. The restaurant down by the ocean that is open for lunch during the day - turns into the steakhouse at night and is really nice and romantic and as I recall - the dessert was amazing! Beach is really nice and the water there is good for swimming and snorkelling. Rooms were nothing to write home about - you would probably be better off getting the rooms that do not have your door opening onto the lobby area as these are quite noisy during the evenings. The bus into the main shopping/hotel zone of Cancun is really cheap and runs very frequently. There is a bank machine across the street that you can use to get pesos and it gives a better rate than the hotel. If you want to go into "old" Cancun - we recommend La Parilla (sp?) for dinner - the taco dinner is amazing and cheap! Good for a night out. and PS: the pizza bar by the pool is really really good !!!!!! have fun!!!
services are excellant if only you leave a Tip! Busboys, maids and bartenders would jump high for a USD AND CAD or Ukpound. I guess that everywhere. The beach is very thin at one end and the otherside is fume from desel from motor sport vechiles
If you had to pick just one of the restaurants that require reservations at the Riu Caribe, which one would it be?
We are going October 13-20 first time ever and really Don't know what to expect Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
