I have been doing a lot of research for the last couple months and im booking my trip to Cancun this weekend!

Me and a group of about 9 others (all from England) will be staying at the Riu Cancun from 12th to 19th of March 08, we're all looking forward to it sooo much!!
It will be our first trip to Cancun and our first taste of spring break!!

I thought i'd ask for a bit of advice before making the booking.

Is 12th - 19th march a good time to go?
Is the Riu Cancun a good choice for 1st time breaker's?
Will it be busy during these dates at the Riu?
We're staying for 7 nights AI, is £500/$1000 enough spending money?

yeah i'd say $750 for a week would go down well, who did you book with and how much did you pay?, if you don;t mind me asking!

I'll be booking with Thomson, its about £800 for the holiday, but should get it down a bit as there's 10 of us.

The Riu will be busy at that time but it isn't going to be full of breakers.

There will be some but it's not typically thought of as a breaker resort.

But it is avery nice resort and I know you will enjoy it.

Yeh it's mainly the location that attracted me to the Riu, and plus i looked all over the forums and couldn't find a bad word about it!

My other option is the Barcelo Costa, is that any good?

It is...and I think a few members on here stayed there for spring break this year and were very satisfied.

Myself, I would pick the Riu...and the fact that it has alcohol dispensers (and a mini bar) in each room that is included in the all inclusive have nothing to do with my preference, LOL.
