"If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, there's still a 30% chance we're going to get it wrong." --Joe Biden, speaking to members of the House Democratic caucus who were gathered in Williamsburg, Va., for their annual retreat, Feb. 6, 2009 "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened." –Joe Biden, apparently unaware that FDR wasn't president when the stock market crashed in 1929 and that only experimental TV sets were in use at that time, interview with Katie Couric, Sept. 22, 2008 (Watch video clip) "You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking." --Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) (Watch video clip)
My point wasn't regarding the reaction of the 2 in the background...Being more precise then: I know a car wreck when I see one...But this is 2011 and we will all continue to pretend this is natural, when it is not...Now, get out your tried and true modern reactions here. Simply put, these 2 can't and won't produce children...And their "relationship" is a house built on the sand in the Mississippie delta...
I can't produce a child. Does that mean that any relationship I have is false? What a sad way to live a life, that the only relationship that matters is one that pops out babies. I know lots of people with kids who are very unhappy.
oh my.. that is such a shame that people actually still think this way.. ***being gay is not a choice.*** they are born this way... and my argument is always this.. back in the day (and I really hope not so much now) do you think that the gays that admitted or could not hide the fact that they were gay wanted to be beaten and killed, do you think that they wanted to be shunned by there families and looked down upon and ridiculed, do you think they choose to be thought of as child molesters and mentally disturbed. Do you think they choose to be fired from there jobs and shunned by society. do you think they choose as children to grow up knowing they are different and afraid to talk to there parents or friends because our god fearing peers said its wrong..do you think they choose to be driven to suicide because they felt there was no place for them do you think they choose to be punished for being gay.. come on really.. if it was just a put on or a learned behavior .. why would they want to live that.. why does it matter if they are.. they are just people.. and if your sexual preference were under a microscope .. how would you feel!! I love my gay brother... he is the kindest most loving honest person I have ever had the pleasure to know ..
I prefer to think that they are just happy that one of their crew mates finally gets to feel the happiness that every other person in a relationship gets to feel when they come back from being asea. There's quite a huge difference between kissing someone you love after you haven't seen them forever and the kind of making out that happens between two girls because they want attention from men.
Wow, didnt see that one coming. I was raised not to judge anyone, regardless religion, color of their skin, class, sexuality etc. Why does their sexuality bug you so much? What is it about letting others be happy, regardless of whom they love? Is a "real" relationship determined by the ability to have children? I try, but I just cant understand why any sane person would object to others being happy - its madness. EDIT: These people are risking(and giving) their lives on a daily basis, so that their countrymen/women can enjoy a somewhat free lifestyle, yet they continue to face ignorance from the very same people. It must suck to feel that...
You got a reaction with that one. I know how that feels...lol. I'm sure if you think about it, basing the validity of a relationship on the ability to produce children doesn't really make any sense. Think of people who are born sterile, or have had something happen early in life to make having children impossible. Maybe a young soldier returning from war with a serious injury. They shouldn't get married? They aren't qualified to be in a loving relationship? Or old widowed people who marry with no intention or ability to produce offspring. A lot of the reasoning behind the requirement of being able to produce offspring was driven by the survival needs of small communities, early in human history. The Catholic church has held to this position, to the point of banning birth control. This ensures new church members as parents must commit to raising their child in the Catholic faith, at their baptism. Love between two people is a wonderful thing. Period. I think the relationships that are truly built on sand are those that are entered into without thought. Without communication and honesty. Without kindness and acceptance. Maybe like a "shotgun" wedding where two young people are forced into marriage because of a pregnancy that requires of them to "do the right thing"...
Thanks for pointing that out, Roxie. Certainly that would have been more obvious to all of us if that had been a hetrosexual couple kissing. Not that there is anything wrong with the two girls making out for that reason....lol
