South Beach is really really good - I stayed there for a few days last year before a cruise! Really good nightlfe - there is a club called ''Mansion'' - you will all go there!
I have a friend who lives in miami, she could always pick me up from the airport and take me to the hotel!! Sweet!! And i am about to have 2 friends living there, my buddy is moving there in a month!
Yes, Fort Lauderdale airport (FLL) is 28 miles from South Beach. There are also shuttles included with some hotels (ie. South Beach Hotel Group: Chesterfield, Catalina, Chelsea, Mercury, Shelley, Whitelaw) Otherwise they aren't very expensive, around $35 round trip. woo.
mansion is a GREAT club, I love it, haven't been since last year. Yes, Ft Laud airport is a good option too. A lot less hassle to fly out of than miami too. My friends that live in Miami usually fly out of Ft Laud to avoid it.

They were really friendly too. Sometime, they would dance among the crowds and some of my friends actually took pictures with them. That's oppose to most other clubs with dancers, the dancers would act all smiley when they are on stage and runs off quickly once they are done.
I linked from the South Beach Hotels website to Nikki's (your roomkey gets you in free), and saw some outstanding beach volleyball pics featuring a bunch of models. It seems the Nikki empire also has many other establishments and a cruise ship.
Do you mean South Beach hotels in general or THE South Beach Hotel (http://www.southbeachhotels.com/)? THE South Beach Hotel is actually north of all the action and quite a walk (1.5-2 miles) from Nikki Beach (very southern end). I stayed at their sister hotel, Avalon, which is in the middle of everything. And I can't find the free pass link you were talking about.
