Us: We are 40yo and have been to TTR once in 2015, twice in 2016, and then Desire in 2017. Great trip every time but liked Desire more than TTR. Had to check out the new TTR, though.

New place looks great. Check in was fast, Solomon took us to our garden view room that was overlooking Bash and the pool. Noticed right away that the music was much louder around the pool area.

Room was fine, no free porn, no issues with function. But, this room overlooks Bash and was not tolerable after a long day of travel. We switched to the old 4000 block building. We think we were the first ones in. Nice layout, everything worked, except this one light around the tv and closets which would not go out. Found the circuot breaker amd just switched off the lights at night.

Some newly met 'friends' showed us their Bash tower room the next day and it was a little bigger with a nice view, but who goes to spend a lot of time in their room to admire an ocean view.

The new pool and bar areas are a lot better. Pool water did not seem heated which sucked for the 2 cloudy/rainy days we had. Bathrooms are not as close but still a short walk away. Bash is a huge improvement over PatyOs. No cloth chairs, different areas you can hang out in, open to the ocean and an inside bar area right next to it that you can cool off in.

Entertainment staff was one of the surprise huge improvements. Young, energetic and eye candy for both men and women.

Food was the same, which is not good. Miss the old lunch buffet. Steakhouse, italian are terrible. SHE was the biggest disappointment of the trip. The asian restaurant and separate teppanyaki were excellent. Seafood place was also pretty good.

A couple of the nighttime shows were excellent and much better than the old TTR.

Sports Bar is huge and was a great place to party(with AC) the one night it rained.

Some very minor issues where maybe they thought more of looks than function. Example, i rested my drink on one of the table at Bash. If you miss that the table has a slight tilt to it, you just lost your drink.

The main issue we had was the vokume of the music and that there was no change from day to day. By our last day, we knew what song was coming next. The music around the pools was ore Breathless style. No rock, no country, just thumping dance music all day and all night.

The vibe was fantastic. People seemed to really get along and has been crazier than any other time we have been there. It seemed like at least 80% were looking for some type of fun with someone other than who they came with. Age range was mainly 30-50 and it just seemed like a different crowd than any other time we have been there. We needed more time to meet everyone.

They still have a lot of work to do and there appear to be some pretty big issues with the actual construction with the many leaks and things falling apart. If it were a house i just built, i would be pissed. I wouldnt be surprised to see them shut down for a couple of weeks at some point to do some renovation of the renovations.

It will be hard to argue against the new TTR even for the most hardcore of old TTR lovers.

I thought I was the only one that noticed the randomly falling drinks at bash! lol.. I watched one sweat itself, then started sliding, and sliding... and bam.. on the ground. Even worse when people would bring the glass cups out from the lobby bar..

And I noticed that there seemed to be a lot more "open" people as well.. Not that I'm complaining lol.
