I'm kinda with Scott on this one.. there are only two restaurants that they ask you to dress nice for. They try to make these dinners a little special for when you're on vacation and want that special romantic dinner. So you get dress, your lady gets all done up and then you sit down next to a guy with a tee-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops. Kind of takes the wind right out of the sails. But you paid for your vacation so you get to decide what you wear to dinner. Jamie
oh this is getting confusing guys... Ok, just to clarify - we are not planning on looking like scruffy beach bums... My hubby wouldn't wear some old work out t-shirt and sporty shorts or surf boardies for a dinner in a restaurant... There are such things as nice t-shirts and shorts you know I'm all for dressing up nicely, sure we girls live for these moments ;-) lol But I can't understand what's wrong with wearing elegant high heel sandals with my dress?
It depends if you go to the restaurants that require reservations or not. The Italian and Asiaian are more elegant and require better dress for the guys and gals. Last year I wore nice clean jeans, a long sleeve button down shirt and dress shoes. But if you go to the seafood restaurant or margaritas you can wear shorts and a t-shirt no problem.
hmmm... I think I'm going to take a gamble on this. Hubby will have his proper dress up anyway for our further stay in other place, so not a big problem there - if he has to wear it he will. But I'm not keen on "no open toe" shoes. I hardly have any unless we are talking about heavy winter stuff or trainers So my high heel sandals are coming and if I'm not let in... I will be speechless
From the Temptation FAQ: IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR SPECIALITY RESTAURANTS? The dress code is casual elegant which means, for the gentlemen, no shorts, no t-shirts, no jeans and no sandals. So...your high heel sandals are fine, they are just trying to keep the guys from looking like beach bums in the nice restaurants (which I appreciate). It would seem that there is no dress code for ladies...hmmm....so have fun with that.
They more refer to guys sandals, not girls.. Basically they weren't looking for a guy to show up in an old pair of reefs for dinner. No worries. I never wear closed toe shoes there. Sexy heels all the way at night.
umm if your there for a special romantic dinner, wtf are you doing looking at the guy at the next table???
