I personally, would say yes; however, dress shorts etc can be nice also. It is soooooo nice to see our friends dressed up each evening as well. It just feels good. Again, my opinion. This is just one of the things that attracted Bobby & I to TTR. It was the fact that they did list a dress code. Not as much in some of the restaurants. Your day is mostly casual in the restaurants, obviously, less by the pools. One of the things we love is getting dressed up for the evening. Bob would never go out in something casual as a T-Shirt, Tank Top, flip flops, swim trunks, etc., for dinner. HE will however, bring dress shorts, collard shirt and his Italian Leather Loafers. He wears this when it is very warm night, because it does get real warm. Or, he would want to dress appropriately with slacks, especially, when I have taken an hour or more to get dressed up to the nines. Everyone will have their opinion, just do some research on the website, this forum, etc. When you look at photos, you'll see how people are dressed and make your own executive decision. The two of you will reach your own comfort levels for YOUR vacation. By the way, we were really glad that we did bring proper attire. You can either chose to wear it or not. However, there is nothing worse than wishing you had and didn't. Have a great trip. :clappyinghappy:Ang
This is our first trip to Temptation & want to minimize our carry-on luggage. Seems like there's a lot of different opinions on here, so does anyone has the "official" resort dress code for men in the hotel restaurants? Does it state anywhere in writing from the resort that they'll throw you out if you wear nice dress shorts &/or nice dressy leather open toed sandals ? Thanks,
I would love to wear white jacket shirt and bow tie for dinner some nights but I fill it might be a littel bit over the top .
Yes, front the Temptation website regarding The Village Wok, Il Piacere, and Bellavista restaurants: "Dress code: no shorts, no t-shirts and no sandals"
My husband wears converse occasionally with dress pants (and I personally love it). Will that be ok since they are closed toes?
I wore my black Chuck Taylors with black linen shirt and pants. I had no problems. I added red shoe laces for the ladies red dress & guys in black night (with a splash of red). Enjoy!
Must be my age cause when I read Donald's post about escorts I knew exactly what he was talking about. I too enjoy dressing for dinner and escorting my lady because I know she appreciates it. It's a little effort that provides a great reward later on. I've seen guys in dress shorts collared shirts and closed toe sandals and have never once thought he looks like a slob. I have seen guys show up with their girls dressed to the nines and they're in board shorts and T-shirts and thought holy shit buddy couldn't make a small effort for the lady. Some of the restaurants set a tone of romance and I agree with the other writer if it gets a bit loud I too would ask if they might keep it down, not because I want to kill your vibe but because we're having some time to wind down and enjoy one another's company.
Well I appreciated the comments and packed some evening wear. Nothing as close to what Honey wears, but nicer non-the-less. Oh and I still read "escort" in that context to a male counterpart to a date, formal, or event. Guess that makes me old school as well.
