Yes they have a washer & dryer on site. Not sure exactly where but I'm sure someone will respond to this. I know Jamie is in charge of laundry when he & Chris go. He has posted about this before.

Found the thread - on page 16 titled 'Doin Laundry' last posted on 3-16-2010. Jamie gives laundry tips here.

Does anyone have a picture or map of the gift shop? I'd like to see what I can get there, so I don't have to pack too much.

Not sure what you are looking for but here are some options:
    1) gift shop has suntan lotion, insulated mugs, bottled water, snacks, gifts, hangover meds, etc

    2) small drugstore across the street. prescriptions & toiletries

    3) small store in front of TTR. about the same as gift shop only cheaper. great place to buy sunglasses

    4) and of course there is Walmart which has everything. A short bus ride & you can buy anything you need for your trip. We normally go early the 1st day, pick up what we forgot & are back to the resort before the action starts.

If you take the hallways back to your room they put these nifty little niches in the walls so you can sit down and have a break before carrying on. We have gotten lucky enough to get 1st floor by the quiet pool the last few years so sometimes I just hop the wall, not very gracefully or quietly. The key card for the door can be a real nuisance. On a side note if you decide to take a break on the floor it's cool and refreshing.

LOL thats why I never get a 3rd floor room anymore, too much hallway and too many breaks... oh and i found over the last few trips, if your a smoker, the key cards fit perfectly in the plastic on the back of cigarette pack, kills two birds with one stone lol

The 3rd floor is horrible for drunk smokers. Not only are you exhausted from walking up the stairs but by the time you get up them you need to stop for a smoke break. Probably how I found out about the cold floor...or my shoes were sabotaging me again and I fell over. High heels are always a good idea at 8pm...4am and they are the devil.

Back to the excursion question...it depends on what you're doing and who you booked with. We've met some really fun people from other resorts on the shuttles but never any kids.

Don't be doggin' the third floor, it gives the best vantage point for a little game of "Who's having sex with the blinds open?"... Not that we've EVER played that, being mild mannered and virtuous.
