They were filling implants with silicone that was meant for mattresses not inside humans. It was only discovered when surgeons started to notice an unusually high rupture rate. For those unfortunate women whose implants ruptured found silicone migrating round the body, getting into glands and all kinds of places it shouldn't. There are tens of thousands around Europe affected, particularly sad for those having had breast or testicle implants following cancer treatments. I was lucky enough to receive information in the fairly early stages of investigation and had them removed last May. It's still making headlines here as the governments battle out who will be pay for all these women to have them changed. Not all the private patients can afford to pay again and many of the clinics are pleading it's not their fault. Meanwhile the manufacturer has gone bankrupt.... I am now completely in love with my highly recommended Allergans. I may be one that falls into the "really fake" category. But they are on my chest and both my hubby and I are happy so for me that's whose opinion counts.
That's quite scary about the PIP ones. Glad you were able to find out about them and have them removed before there was an issue. As for the ten year rule, that's no longer true if you have a good surgeon. As long as you're happy with the results, no reason to change em up. I think now-adays it's moreso that us women can't remain happy with anything for long and just choose to upgrade them. The only trouble there is that every time you go back under the knife there's more chance of complications. So, if you love your boobies, don't fret about what others have ... just be happy and rock em!
I have read this entire article.... and it's just appalling how society has dictated how women should look. And the unnecessary risks ( in most cases) it causes women to take. Some posts on here offer comments how women should not be hesitant to go topless even though they don't look like victoria secret models and etc.... That comes across as judgmental in itself. All women are beautiful and true beauty comes from within..... it's what's in one's heart.....not what's over it....... ok I've said what I thought now I"m logging off and crawling under the bed and hiding because I know I'm getting trashed on this one....... :-O
I don't care which...it's about you and hopefully at TTR you can feel comfortable in your own skin. I like em in many shapes and sizes, augmented or not.
I def agree with Bart! I'm no skinny mini and was always the type of person who hated being shirtless. But as I got older I thought WTF! I really don't give a shit what people think anymore! I love my wife being topless and she likes to be topless. So if people have issues with seeing either of our non perfect bodies then to bad! That is one of the many reasons I love TTR! You will prob see someone who is in worse shape then you are!
this is a interesting thread. i had my first set for 21 years. they were silicone. i loved them. but i started out so flat sidways i could have passed for a dude!! that had to do with 0 perc. body fat. after 4 kids and some plumpness i changed out to saline, and went larger. i still am in love with them. i wish i could have gone high profile but my chest is weay to broad, and wide to have a good look with those. and as for changing every 10 yrs. not!!!!!!!!!!! its usually within the first 2-3 yrs. that the ruptures will occure. unless you have blunt force trauma. just enjoy whatever you have because as long as you are happy who really cares what everybody else likes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
