Welll, not that I would recommend it, but there are raves here, just way outta the way. As Steve said, Playa del Carmen is a better shot.
wow how proper! i bet you doubt alot of things that are really happening,cutting peoples heads off is also illegal in mexico but it is done everyday! to answer youre question YES there are raves here sometimes ,there was once a rave club in a cave in playa del carmen. RAVE IN THE CAVE sounds cool huh . as for this user who doubts reality. mexico probably isnt for you. ( lots of real stuff happens here not like the fantasy world you live in!

Rave? Why would kids who want to get drugged up and rave go all the way to Mexico? There's lots of beaches and places in the US that may appreciate such a crowd.
As said before, Playa del Carmen would be a great bet for you. Lots of beach parties. There also a hotel called Mezzanine (a bit south) that is a renowned for its beach raves. You'll have not probs getting sorted in Playa, just be careful.
Toxic: Tulum "hosts" raves from time to time. If you go even further south, you are likely to find more as well. Dont know if you are interested in Ayahuasca(obviously not rave...), but if, there are a few places around Tulum and south of Tulum that have the ceremonies as well.
