It is my understanding that the TTR complex was one of the original properties in Cancun from about 1974. I would love to see some pictures of that just to see if any of those buildings made up a portion of what was recently torn down. I have searched the web with no luck.
FYI - The first hotel/resort built in the, then new, Cancun Hotel Zone was the 74-room Playa Blanca, built by Diego de la Peña which opened in May 1974. Subsequently he acquired a neighboring hotel called Plaza Las Glorias and made the expansion of the property bringing it to 384-rooms and renamed the enlarged property Blue Bay Getaway (it was later remodeled in 1984 and eventually renamed again to Temptation Resort & Spa)
