Even in Philadelphia, in the summer it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo HOT and HUMID that a thunderstorm everyday is expected. They may last no more then 30 min, and then it's sunny again. Like someone else posted, it's rainy season here, and they were well aware of that when they booked. When I would vacation here it was ALWAYS in October, Hurricane Season. Never once did a Hurricane hit while I was here, but it did rain.... and often. But I never let it dampen my time.
oh well more time for room parties and so on and so on..and so on....so no worries...when in doubt ....party !!!!
Arriving on June 26th and weather forecasts look bleak for those days as well. Hopefully that means passing showers and back to sun...
I wish it WOULD rain.. my car is filthy.. I think it rained one night last week for about 5 minutes.... if it's rained any more since then it was too brief and I missed it... I'm gonna go out and do my rain dance now....:umbrella1: I think the reason all of the weather sites constantly predict rain is because they don't have any data to calculate other than temp and humidity... so since we're generally warm and right by the ocean their all knowing computers say rain everyday... weatherunderground.com seems to be better than most for some reason but even they predict too much rain... perhaps it rains SOMEWHERE within the general area everyday for 30 seconds.. but really it seems like we'll get several solid weeks of rain two or three times a year and the rest of the time its just super-quick showers that won't even wash the dirt off of the car.
Thank you for the words of encouragement! Lol I don't mind the showers. Just not a solid week of rain, please!
Even in a hurricane, it doesn't rain for a solid week. You are going to worry yourself sick if you keep thinking about it.
I last posted in this thread two weeks ago and said I couldnt remember it raining. Two weeks later I still cant remember it raining for more than a few minutes.
Yeah, it rained once in the last two weeks. I came out of my apt and was surprised to see some water on the streets..., so I figured it must have rained (sun was shining). I suppose this is the tropical rainy season in which a hard rain can come, last a short time, and create puddles, everywhere. This just adds to the feeling of being in the tropics.... Enjoy it, for the break it provides to the unremitting summer sun!
I agree, I remember last time I was there, I wanted it to rain just for a few minutes to cool down a bit.
Well we got back last week and it was "supposed" to rain every day 60% chance...and like we figured, it rained only once in our 6 days and just for a little bit...it was boiling sunny hot the rest of the time!
