ya, I did see that perez was getting sued for the illegal use of photos!! Regardless, I am going to talk with a few people, namely my buddy ep who's brother is a lawyer, but having a blog site would be fun I think. Regardless, isn't going to cost me much to get it going, just getting traffic is the big thing. But thanks guys
if the person finds out you took it and used it for the purpose you are then yes you can get sued for it... these guys take their busniess very seriously... besides most of these sites (esp the good ones) are run by catty gay men... you trying to tell us something jase :wink:

Like hotspots, hotels, places to eat, places to find celebs, universal studios passes, crazy tshirts, vip tours, star maps, crazy stuff like that which deals with hollywood! And then tie in some gossip and celeb news in here. As well as a crazy forum to discuss different topics. And Im not turning gay!! :wink: :lol:
good luck with it Jason... ask your lawyer friend.. or even Karan about putting a disclaimer on your site somewheres that would protect your butt from being sued.
Well Jason here is my spin for starters it's almost a fulltiem job doing those sites. And you will need to update daily wayyy more than 4 times a day. The top 5 sites are updating sometimes 4 times an hour minimum. You have to also watch out for copy right infrigments on gossip and lawsuits. You will also have to give credit where credit is due. Also understand that you can't just cut and paste pics you need to pay for the papparazzi's pics..They cacn cost you hundreds..
Getting advice from a lawyer who doesn't specialize in this area won't help you, Jason. It's a highly specialized field and if you do it then it's all you do. You don't want to be taking advice from a lawyer who just does a bit here or there because I can guarentee you that lawyer isn't up on all the laws and regs that he should be. Before you do anything talk to a lawyer who specializes in reprersenting people involved in the media and sports and entertainment. But I warn you, these lawyers will cost you. They are not cheap. But getting advice in this area from anyone other than a lawyer in this case is setting yourself up to be sued and setting that lawyer up for a malparactice claim.
Actually TMZ and Perezhilton are one of the many top sites. For instance perezhilton got something like 7 million hits in one day. They do offer a forum of sorts, and TMZ does offer things to the public as well, the site owen even gets cameo's on CNN and such
yes! when lindsay got arrested the other day. they all pretty much offer forums. dlisted has a forum link atht he top not just comments under the photos. as does perez i believe. its gonna be a tough market to crack when someone like perez gets 7 million hits in a day. and i'd listen to karan. eek! spensive start up for sure.
