I really don't know.....I'll guess $30-$45....your won't be sorry Check out a few samples at the airport before you leave.
I've heard the same things mentioned so far: Silver, tequila, vanilla, and hand-made crafts. I've heard tale, however, of silver being inferior quality to that being stated by the seller and the vanilla potentially being imitation despite being claimed as genuine. Not being a jeweler, I just avoid the silver stuff completely. And having an old bottle of vanilla in the pantry for 4 years probably means I shouldn't stock up just because it's a good deal in Mexico. I've seen crafts being made by the craftsmen, themselves, so you can get an idea that someone really knows what they're doing. If you don't see them making it, there's a possibility they bought it from BulkAsianCrap.com and are reselling it. I think that's where they get the conch sells everyone seems to sell on Isla Mujeres. They're super shellacked (no pun intended) and everyone has 20+ of them, despite not seeing a single one like that on the island anywhere. The tequila at the airport duty free seems to be a "deal", especially when you don't have to pay sales tax on top of the sin taxes. But, I'm thinking that it's not as great a deal at the Duty Free as it might be elsewhere, though I haven't really shopped around hardcore to find the best deals on tequila.
