I have booked both ways - the first time I booked a SunWings vacation using Itravel2000 which was about $2300 including air, hotel, transfers and taxes. This year I have booked everythng separately using Alpharooms for the room, WestJet for the flight, and USA Transfers for the transfer. It came to about $1600 this time, largely to to a great Alpharoom price. Even without the big Alpharoom sale, I believe booking separately will save you $200-$400 if you check often for sales and book at the right time.
Hi I did book with Air Canada into Cancun from Victoria BC and booked my hotel through carribean hotels.com I thought it was quite reasonable for the stay...hope this helps! Lynn
I changed the currency from Pounds to US dollars. Given that the two currency are basically at par, there wasn't much of a difference. The prices are trickier now with Alpharoom because they now quote them "per person based on double occupancy". When I booked, they quoted prices per room.
We tried booking last year on expedia.ca (which I use for pretty much all of our travel) but the package we had searched for was gone, so we ended up booking the same flights, westjet direct, through the hotel's website for the same price.
I recently booked with BooKit.com - included hotel and flight. We are flying with US Airways out of Halifax, it was the only option for booking in December to get there same day without overnight in Toronto there and back. I booked it through a travel agent which also included hotel transfers. Cost around $1300 per person tax in and thats for Dec 16-23.
