I have naturally curly hair (as in my new avatar pic) that straightens easily, but frizzes in humid climates. I had a salon Keratin treatment (the expensive one) on my blonde-highlighted hair 18 months ago and suffered A LOT of breakage from which I am still recovering. But many people swear by them. Having said that, I had one of the formaldehyde ones, before they were pulled from the market. Apparently the new generation of Keratin or Brazilian Blowout treatments that do not contain formaldehyde do not work nearly as well.

I tried to wear my hair straightened with a bit of curl last week in Cancun, and could not keep the frizz down until the 2nd last night I put about a quart of Moroccan Oil on it once it was styled with a curling iron (no hairspray). Well, that worked wonders, and it stayed almost frizz-free even thru the Boobs Cruise the next day. Moroccan Oil is easy to take to the pool and reapply during the day as needed, and it's GOOD for your hair.

I also use a small amount of Moroccan Oil curl creme, Moroccan Oil, and Frizz Ease whether I wear my my hair straight or curly at home and in Cancun. For curly, I use a spray gel before drying with a diffuser. I know Delicious swears by a lot of gel to keep her curls frizz-free, and her hair always looks great.

I don't know what I would do without my Moroccan oil! Just wish I could find it somewhere cheaper. $40 for 3.4 oz is a little pricey....but I will pay it because I love it.

Humidity was good while we were there. I was actually able to keep it straight. I used a spray in product for fizzy hair It work quite well but I need to unpack before I can tell the the name of it.

If you could let us know the name of it once you unpack it that would be great! :) Jess

Jill, I actually am using Argan Oil, which is the same thing really (even smells the same). I bought a bottle at a discount department store on clearance for cheap! :)

I should have mentioned in connection with the Keratin treatment that I have fine hair, but lots of it. So maybe this is why my hair broke (in combination with it being colour-treated)

I've had my keratin treatment done and I have to say it's awesome!

I still have to blow dry and iron it flat but when i do, it stays straight for the next 3 days! I went under the rain yesterday and didn't frizz out!

I find it great. Also, my hair is still curly if i want it to be!

I will have to look into the Argon Oil. I have really thick hair and it's course without the constant use of the oil. Jeff teases me that my hair is like straw when I don't use the oil. One time I tried a different kind and it didn't seem to soak in as much so it made my hair oily. I can't remember the name - but I can picture it. I know it wasn't Argon oil.

Is there a 'brand' I should look for in the Argon oil?

    Jill,

The brand I bought is Rusk, which is not a bargain brand, but I found it on the clearance table at a discount dept store. Orange bottle with turquoise label (like Moroccan Oil...likely not a coincidence!) It's called Deep Shine Oil "made with Argan oil", and the 4 oz bottle was $11. Do you have Marshalls or TJ Max near you? Those places are good for finding bargains on beauty products.

I got a keratin treatment...I had to sign a document saying that I would not hold the salon accountable for any damages to my hair. Kinda a bad sign when they ask to do that. I did some research and there is a ton of information linking it to loss of hair. I currently am regrowing my hair. I have new hair growth about three inches long all over my head and because my hair is fine you can see through it when I dry it straight and flat iron. Really bad. Really sad. On top of that I didn't find that it did all that it was suppose to do.
