If you had to define everything a good rock song should be...That's it!!! We got it played everywhere in Cancun last year...Daddy Rock, Carlos N' Charlies, BBG...even in Coco Bongo!!! It became a Cancun anthem for me and few others there!!!

Definite Stone Roses fan here. Been listening to them for a long long time along with other UK indie stuff. Ever listen to Spacemen 3? Good good stuff there.

UK punk has always been in my rotation also with Leatherface being at the top of the pile.

Can't say i have heard of these, must have a look out:best Indie band around over here at the minute is Kasabian 1st album (called Kasabian)...very Happy Mondays-ish;great live act.

Ian Brown still touring with new stuff, but always does some Roses stuff like "I Wanna Be adored".I saw the Stone Roses in Belfast in 1992 for around £20...awesome though Ian Brown can't sing for shit!!! Musically the tightest Indie band ever...just outstanding:You catchin the Arctic Monkeys:they are deemed to be the second coming of the Stone Roses...check them out:a bunch of kids playin very grown up music!!!

You're a man of taste dude

Kasabian is a very good band that never really caught on over here for some reason. They had one minor hit on some of the alternative radion stations here about a year ago but thats all for them.

Arctic Monkeys are another awesome band. They get next to nothing for airplay over here as well. Funny you mentioned that they play "grown up" music. The only station I hear them played on from my satellite radio is the Garage Rock station which caters mostly to stuff from the late 60s to early 70's in the variety of pre-punk music. Awesome station though.

Lately though, I have been listening to just plain old dirty rock n roll. NOt the mainstream stuff, but more like the stuff you see live in shitty clubs with cheap beer. Bands like Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Erotics, The Shemps, Eagles of Death Metal, The Supersuckers, Reverend Horton Heat, etc.

    It's funny

My 15 year old listens to all of the stuff that I listened to in the 80's, and then some. He is a big Door's fan, yesterday he was downloading some Ted Nugent, we used to sit out in the parking lot at high school listening to "Good friends and a bottle of wine", now he has it on his Ipod.

We have taken him to see Nickelback and he went with Barb to see Def Leppard. I got him some rare stuff that we used to listen to in the 80's, and he loves it and all his friends are after it. Stuff like Coney Hatch ,"Monkey Bars", I showed him some Anvil "Metal on metal", and then finally I showed him, and I can't remember the band from Germany, but the song is "Eat the rich"

SoccerScott, I seen Triumph and Rush back in the day, the lead singer of Triumph, Rick Emmit now teaches music at Humber College in Toronto and the former lead singer of Max Webster (Remember "BattleScar") , Kim Mitchell, is now a DJ on afternoon drive in Toronto on Q107.
