This is the only site that I get this on and sometimes it’s so often I can’t manage to read much of anything!!
I get the exact same thing, however it has been jumping from page to page. Drudge, weather channel, this forum...etc
Thanks for the info Kyle and Party People. MegnBrock, that's definitely nothing to do with me. It's not an ad actually from Amazon (which is what I use), but the "chance to win" an Amazon gift card. These typically involve you filling out a survey or registering your email etc for which the ad provider gets paid a small sum - known as CPA advertising. The gift card probably doesn't exist. Pretty sure this is something people have downloaded to their phones from elsewhere, there are no malware warnings for this site and it's kept up to date with the latest security patches as they come out. Also tried from my own iphone and couldn't recreate it.
@Steve it is definitely device related as I have had it pop up on other sites. The most annoying thing is that the only thing you can do is hit close on the pop up which then loads a page that replaces the page you are on. The back button is disabled and the only thing you can do is close the tab. Oddly, it only happens on some threads and not others. It has happened on other sites too (so it is clearly device related) but for whatever reason it seems to happen more often on here. Clearly not your fault Steve, just thought a bit more detail might be helpful.
I agree, I was just using this thread to try and solve my issue. I wasn’t trying to put any blame on you.
