Q Roo Hotel Tax Rate, Why So High At Ttr?

    TTR charges 19% tax, yet several sites say the tax rate is 10% plus 2% lodging tax in Quintana Roo, the State Cancun is in.

    can any of you smarted than me help me understand?

    IVA (Sales Tax or VAT) is 16% throughout Mexico.

    Not sure if there even is a 'lodging tax', I've not heard of it before.
