News from Mahahual is that it has been for the most part totally destroyed. They even had 1/2 the cruise ship concrete pier disappear. Water is still standing at waist high levels and not anticipated to recede for many days to come. I got that letter this morning via email. I'm sure the people there do need supplies and help. But I don't see how they can know what they need until they get there to assess the damage. Julie wrote that letter before she saw the damage. Once there's been proper assessment then the hope is that an effective charity effort can be set up.
