both candidates and both parties equally suck and it will make absolutely NO diference which one is elected - NONE why? ultimatley both parties are far more interested in politics as usual and trivial social issues ranging from gay marriage to abortion and social security to homeland security .....oh yeah and every other secondary issues they can find that is politically convenient......................instead of focusing on the single most important issue this nation has faced since its inception spending money we do not have!!!!!! but then again it would not be politcally correct to try and do something reasonable and smart like simply balancing the budget like every other entity on the planet has to do f 'em both and the parties they rode in on !! the best rob
Rob is correct. Both parties worry about being polically correct with everyone, but forget that it will not matter how correct you are when we are bankrupt. And they are both looking to get to that point very quickly. The Democrats however have the faster track to this point vs. the Republicans. But of course nobody will admit to that since the biased press is very much in bed with the liberal front of the Democrats. It is indeed time for a change from Obama and his useless cronies. Though Romney is not the best choice he is all the voters have to choose from. Till the public rises in force againts both parties vs. playing the blame game things will never change. Obama had 2 years of total control of the White House and Congress, did he really make changes? No. He still blames Bush after 4 years as if he had no chance to change things. He implemented a health care act, which I think all he had in mind all along with the help of Madame Pelosi. Now we sit with basically the same situation as before he became president. Sure the soldeirs are coming home. But to what? Unemployment? Injuries where they have to spend a long time under medical care that not one American denies them for being injured on duty to defend the rest of us? Give us a break. Lets clean house starting with Obama, then the rest of Congress and start from scratch. Perhaps we can get it right on version 2.0????
This presidential election is going to cost somewhere around $3 billion for a job that pays, what, something like $400,000. Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture? Granted you can sign all kinds of book deals and be like Bill Clinton and become a millionaire. So let's say a third party comes along. That just throws the election to the Democrats because their voters will always vote with the party no matter who runs. It could be Arnold the Pig and, if he's a Democrat, then he'll be elected in many cities and states. I think the only real possibility for change will be within the two political parties. I'm not sure that even that will work. A fellow CPA tried to buck the political machine here in our county. He lost his bid for office and then the party trumped up some fund raising technicality and he was faced with possible jail time. As one would expect, he gave up and quietly slipped into oblivion. Now to add to the problem, you have the vote buying that goes on regularly. The main reason that I am so opposed to Obama is his blatant vote buying. If he wins this election it will be because the taxpayers who are working paid for many of his votes. And that is just plain WRONG! We can talk about the wonders of this social program or that social program, but when those programs are laced with corruption and waste and have nothing positive to show, then why would we continue along the same lines?
I'm sure Mitt Romeny's behavior in recent days has had many of his supporters shaking their heads, but I wonder if any of them have had the thought that has occurred to me, in an attempt to explain his verbal wanderings- that he may be manifesting signs of early stage dementia. I do not offer this in jest, though only the passage of years will tell if I was onto something.
V, it is certainly possible, but I would have to say unlikely that Romney is having dementia. My guess would be the stress and grueling nature of a presidential campaign are showing on him. If you have ever traveled extensively for business you know how disconcerting it can be. You literally wake up not knowing what city you are in. I just got back from Louisiana last night after midnight and I'm back in my office by 7 this morning and I feel it. I can only imagine how stressful it is to be doing this for the proverbial 24/7. It would be really sad if his mistakes of the mouth cost him the election. I really don't think we can stand four more years of no limit spending. Seeing the riots over government cuts in Europe I can't help but wonder how close we are to the same level of chaos here in the US.
This Congress is rated by historians as the least productive, ever. Disfunction is everywhere, but no where so concentrated as in the two houses of our national legislature. Ronald Reagan notwithstanding, government is not the problem, but bad government is....
Yes, our Congress is not a body to be proud of and that goes for both sides of the aisle. Yet, in spite of the low approval ratings, most of those yahoos will get re-elected come election time. It's the old adage that your Congressman is terrible, but mine is fine. Where oh where is that term limit amendment to the Constitution?
