    Hi everyone

Just wondered if anyone travelling from UK with Airtours / Thomas Cook had ever taken private transfers to the resort rather than using the "free" transfer provided by the tour operator?

Last time we travelled we had to wait ages for everyone to get through the airport and onto the right coach, so we're thinking about booking a private transfer for when we return in March, but don't want it to be lots of hassle with trying to explain to the tour people at the airport what we're doing, so wondered if anyone else had done the same.....?

    thanks!

Before we lived in Cancun we lived in the UK and used to visit 2 or 3 times a year. We always arranged private transfer. After such a long flight it used to be so annoying to have to wait for the last person through customs to find the coach (always seemed to be someone had a problem and kept us waiting), endure the reps uninformed welcome talk and then have to wait for others to be dropped off at other hotels first.

We always used to smile when we had already checked in with no queue, grabbed the best room, and were already changed and on our second drink as the huge line of people on our flight arrived at the hotel an hour later!

We usually informed the reps that we were making our own way to the resort just so they crossed us off their list and didnt keep the others on the coach waiting while looking for us.

Transfers through entertainment plus are who many people here use. $55 for two return, it's well worth it. There will be a guy holding a sign with your name and 5 mins later you'll be on your way. You'll also get an extra hour or so at the hotel on your way back too.

Thanks Steve, much appreciated. Completely agree about the waiting around on the coaches, we must have been sat on one for 90 minutes last year... frustrating so say the least!

We'll go ahead and get something booked with Entertainment Plus. Just hope the reps listen to us and cross us off their list properly so eveyone else isnt held up!
