Thanks for the answers guys, it seems so expensive!! Has anyone used IMMS. I was always too scared to even think about that option but I have been told that my local hospital (as it's designated according to your address) will be the new one on Nichupte which is excellent and that the doctors there usually have their own private clinics. ie they have their private practices but also work for IMSS a couple of days a week - so basically the doctors are of the same standard. I know my doctor does this anyway. Any thoughts?
A friend from work recently used the IMSS to have their Gall bladder out and said that the docs were the same ones who have private practices. He said the difficult and crappy bit was actually getting in and being approved for the operation, but once you were back in the hospital part and had a bed then everything was fine and professional. Maybe the IMSS here in Cancun is better than in other states in Mexico, I don't know, but from what my mate said it was all good.
MY MIL had surgery 4 years ago when she was 80 They had her leave the hospital the day after her surgery and we ended up having to hospitalize her for 1 week in Hospiten with 2 blood transfusions They released her and said that the bleeding was "normal",she was literally bleeding to death.
Thanks for the details Matt, something to look into. Tracey I checked out the link you posted but for the three of us it came to over $300 US a month :blueshock: And, no there's no news to tell of.. but you never know one day.
My friend who had the gall bladder out at the IMSS has just been re hospitalized due to "complications", and may have to be sent to Mexico city. I now fully agree with Cunspin, buy some! For one person with GNP it's 10,984 pesos per year, money well spent.
