Walmart is a quick trip on the bus from TR. We go there every trip. The bus runs through every few minutes... it would be easy to go after you check in if you really need to.
I'm going to throw a mix in here. I think using USA Transfers on the way from the airport and taking a cab from the TTR is my preference now. The cabs at the airport are marked up nearly double. But the convenience of the cab on the way back is top notch. USA tours is phenomenal though.
What do you guys pay (US dollars) for a cab ride to TTR? And, would you say the ride to TTR is shorter or longer than the ride to "almost-Puerto Morales"? Just curious.
I'll double check this for you with Brant, the owner of USA Transfers, and get back to you. That wasn't my understanding.
Cabs at the airport are 60 dollars one way.( Jan 2011)25 $ back. and they are small. You can book a USA van for 60 $ and share. A lot of us have used USA Transfers and I have not seen any complaints. They are good and advertise on this free site we are using, so click on the link below and book your Transfer. Just my experience
I don't know what you are needing but if its just a few small items there is an OXXO within walking distance from the hotel
Yep. This is what I paid 2 months ago exactly. The cabbies are hurting a bit.. One of them actually waited for an hour for me at walmart-sams. for no extra money.... interesting
We just got back and took USA Transfers. Made it to TTR in half an hour. We and another couple then took a cab a few days later to Walmart. $26 round trip and cab driver waited for is while we went to walmart and the liquor store. We gave hom $30 and some beer. FYI buy your hard liquor at the liquor store not walmart its half the price. The liquor store is the back side of walmart.
