    Sad to say - yes... I bring it on myself as I said. Like to keep 'em a little off-balance, but that was soooo not cool... esp while all his friends were bugging him about my being in Cancun period!

    Call your cell service provider, although I had my company call mine to say that I was going there, and they said that it will work, but it did not. I did see a lot of people chatting on their cells poolside though. Certain networks work there - Fido for sure, and a few others... Unfortunately THIS drunk moron called from her 5* hotel room and the phone call was over $200USD! LOL

    I don't think the Canadian cellphone services work as well as the US ones.

    I have Cingular, and it worked like a charm in Cancun, and only US$0.45/minute

    yes, you must have a 'tri-band' or 'quad-band' phone for it to work internationally.

    with Cingular, I had to call an 800 number before I went to activate the International Service.

    then, no problems.

    just make sure that you change the numbers in your phone so that they start with '+'
