This is one thing we really enjoyed about the resort we went to in Jamaica . Tipping staff was forbidden ...no tips to any staff member at the resort , they could be fired for accepting them . Now dont get me wrong were not cheap it just makes things way easier , no change to carry round , do I tip the bartender for every drink or every third drink etc etc etc . You filled in a card at the end of your stay and named any staff you felt went the extra mile . Just note there name down in your phone or take a screen shot of their ID badge . The staff were then rewarded by the resort if they were named by guests . So much easier ....
Maybe you try doing like the “girls” in Singapore do then pop them out like ping pong balls as needed .....Human cash machine . And the customer doesnt need a ping pong paddle to return them like in the bars in Singapore .
Our tips somewhat mirror each other, although we tend to tip a little less for breakfast and lunch, and maybe a little more for dinner. As everyone know, the staff is not paid very well, and your respect along with a fair tip will get you friends for life. You see tipping of all kinds at TTR for sure. The couple next to me at the teppanyaki table tipped $1 on our last visit for great service.
As far a services like the spa it common for resorts to fluctuate there price by the season or sometimes even day of the week. Also if it's slow they will troll the resort and make deals. If you do make a deal with one of the reps get it on some sort of branded document and have them sign it. Also confirm the deal before the service at the desk. At one resort(not TTR) we were offered a deal and at the appt they refused to honor it.
