Ok, here's the problem. This is our 4th trip to BBG. Every year we do the Isla booze cruise and Sergios booze cruise etc. We have not yet been any where that has the beautiful beaches. We've (mostly me) have been content with hanging around the sexy pool to see what Chinos is going to do next. I tried to work it out to come a couple of days early and either go to playa or cozumel before BBG. That's not going to work. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good day trip to take the wife on where we can see the pretty meixan beaches and maybe snorkeling and all??? Any suggestions are appreciated
I say take a day trip (no tour) to the Isla. Head north and all the beautiful beach you can handle. Some nice little bars to get drinks at. Also a nice beach to swim in the ocean. In the hotel zone, behind Hard Rock Cafe there was always a nice beach. Might have changed since the hurricane but should still be nice. Go way further down and there is a nice streach of beach the locals go to alot. Not sure what KM marking its at. I'm sure someone will chime in on the correct area. Nick and Renee
Akumal, Xpu-Ha or Tulum are all relatively close and have amazing beaches. Akumal is particularly good for snorkeling right from the beach.
Playa Norte over on Isla is a beautiful beach. But if you really want to see some gorgeous beaches then I say do as Jason suggests and head south to Akumal, Xpu-Ha or Tulum. Those areas can be done as a day trip but there are some very nice (and very reasonably priced) hotels in that area if you want to make it an overnight trip. Personally that is what I would suggest....neither of you will be disappointed.
