Okay, I'm trying to digest all the advice here to determine how I am going to deal with the presentation I have to attend because I am staying on referral. There is no way Sean and I will ever buy in because our work schedules will make it impossible to come to the resort even once per year. All the stars happened to align in a freak cosmic accident to allow us to book for this April. A couple of questions: (1) It sounds like I can ask for perks even though I am obligated to attend the presentation because of the referral? Or are perks just for people who don't have any obligation to do the presentation? (2) Can only one partner in a married couple attend? I'd like to go by myself and leave Sean in bed, so only one of us has to suffer. I'm assuming that the answer to this is a resounding NO, as they will want both of us to sign the contract.
your already getting the perks for your stay , so no additional perks yes your both required to attend skip the breakfast put your phone on the table and keep looking at the time . tell them the truth , they don't like to waste there time either make sure you sign the sheet saying you attended or get a pic of yourself there to make sure your sponsor gets his credit . Don't drink the cool aid
What works for some, doesn't work for everyone. We took 5 trips before we bought in and have no regrets. The sales pitch is what you make it. If you step in a car dealership and pay sticker, you're foolish. When the first price they throw out is 40k...cut to the chase. If they continue, let them know you'll gladly hand your referral $250 and walk out. This speeds up the process.
Now my turn to waste your time... I simply said I lost my job, was poor and had no money and also homeless, and was actually visiting to look for a job! Immediate thank you very much and they left us alone. I dont like how they set you up iimmediately after arrival asking you to become a member...before even experiencing the place. Thoughts are if they wait until the end of the visit no one shows because having a good time or just too damn drunk. I believe if interested folks should visit a few times and then agree to the presentation so they understand the place and can also get smart before attending. I then found a second hand membership only used once. The sellers were panicking over the renovation as when they purchased no one mentioned the renovation and shut down. Paid about 40% of what they had. Win-win as they wanted out and needed cash and we decided we wanted in after only 2 visits. Cash once again proved to be King. Had to pay resort $153 transfer fee. And then like magic the contract was ours and we were members. I dont know about Kyle's discount sites but I think we will always be ahead. As far as Referrals go, I only use for friends and will not take the $250 from them and if they are not interested in purchasing then tell them to just say no and not to waste their time. It has been successful. I wouldnt put someone I cared for through it on their vacation if not interested. Peace...we are all entitled to our opinions...they are like ass holes...everybody has one...just dont be one ( well at least try not to be) As an old friend used to say, different strokes for different folks...it wouldn't be fun if we all were the same.

I am not excited about attending the presentation, but I like the idea earning my friend the $250 referral fee in exchange for giving up 90 minutes of my vacation. That's over $300 in Cdn pesos. Maybe Craig will kick me back some so I can afford to bid on his blinged-out bubbas lol
